Today’s apps gone free: Amigo Pancho, BlockPath Pro, TempoRun and more

September 11, 2014

Help Pancho float to the highest places in the world in Amigo Pancho. We also have a challenging logic puzzle game, and an app that matches your music to your run.

All app prices are subject to change at any time and without notice regardless of stated free duration. Price changes are solely under the control of the developers.

iPhone:

WeatherRun: Cycling, Walk, Hike Tracker, Altimeter, logger with Pebble Watch, Heart Rate monitor & M7 Motion Steps ($1.99 → Free, 13.9 MB): Stay ahead of the weather with this fitness app. It allows you to get information you want the most during your runs. It’s the perfect app for fitness enthusiasts in unpredictable climates.

What makes WeatherRun unique is its customizable dashboard. You’re presented with five small circles bordering one large circle. Tap and drag any one of the small circles onto the large circle to bring it into focus. The circles are able to display information like weather, distance traveled, altitude, energy used, speed, and time spent on your activity. The app also includes support for Apple’s M7 co-processor and Pebble’s popular smartwatch.

WeatherRun: Cycling, Walk, Hike Tracker, Altimeter, logger with Pebble Watch, Heart Rate monitor & M7 Motion Steps is available for free for a limited time. It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 24 ratings.

TempoRun ($0.99 → Free, 2.9 MB): This fitness app helps you make the perfect running playlist by selecting songs based on your tempo. Runners in need of something more appropriate to listen to during their exercises will love this app.

The music you select can set the tone for your run, so why not ensure they match? TempoRun does a beautiful job of this by categorizing your library for you. All of your songs are categorized with levels one through 10. A song with a level of one is ideal for walking, while a 10 is ideal for a full sprint. You’re able to remove songs from the categorized library as well, and adjust the tempo manually to ensure the beat is right. Of course, that’s not all TempoRun has to offer. It includes of the usual stat tracking data like distance, calories, and duration.

TempoRun is available for free for a limited time. It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 98 ratings.

Universal:

Minti Kids Animals ($0.99 → Free, 77.2 MB): This educational game will teach your child about animals and the sounds they make through mix and match puzzles. It’s the perfect app for any parent looking to educate and entertain their toddler.

We really like the relaxed atmosphere of Minti Kids Animals. There aren’t any rules, stress, or timers. Your child must simply slide the pieces into place to recreate the chosen animal, and it doesn’t matter how many mistakes they make along the way. When the animal is properly recreated, your child will get to hear the sound it makes.

Minti Kids Animals is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 7 ratings.

Shadow Kings ($0.99 → Free, 50.4 MB): This strategy game has you building up monstrous 3-D cities and defending them from orcs, goblins, and trolls. Start your city today and receive 180 diamonds for free to get things rolling. Shadow Kings is great for anyone that enjoys casual city building games.

Shadow Kings is one of the best looking online strategy games we’ve seen. All of the environments, buildings, and characters are rendered in beautiful 3-D, allowing you to really enjoy the world you’ve created. But to keep your world intact, you’ll need to collect resources and get your economy booming so you can build up a massive army. The game includes a varied gaming environment that allows you to battle on your own or join the community in player-versus-player events.

Shadow Kings is available for free today only (09/11). It has a 4-star rating with a total of 311 ratings.

Amigo Pancho ($1.99 → Free, 83.4 MB): Help Pancho float to the highest places in the world in this physics-based puzzle game. Amigo Pancho is for gamers that enjoy interactive physics and mastering new concepts.

Amigo Pancho has you interacting with the various colorful environments in a wide variety of ways, which is why we can’t recommend it enough. There’s something new around every corner. The basic idea of the game is to help Pancho ride his two very small and fragile balloons to the highest places in the world. Along the way you’ll have to clear debris, redirect cactus spines, and even block fireballs to ensure his balloons don’t pop. The game includes a total of six locations and 120 levels, so you better be ready for a challenge.

Amigo Pancho is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 99 ratings.

BlockPath Pro ($0.99 → Free, 3.1 MB): Find the correct path to fill in the entire board in this relaxing puzzle game. BlockPath Pro is the type of game for those looking for a mental challenge whenever the time is right.

BlockPath Pro has a minimalist visual style, allowing you to focus on the challenging puzzles. All you have to do is drag the blue square around the board in order to cover all of the open space. Sounds easy, right? Well, it’s not. You can’t cross over your own path to fill in the open space, and you can’t lift your finger to start a new path. There’s only one way to solve each puzzle, and it’s up to you to figure out what it is. The game is loaded with six worlds and 210 levels to complete.

BlockPath Pro is available for free today only (09/11). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 85 ratings.

Photo Reminders ($0.99 → Free, 18.5 MB): Create clear visual reminders by snapping photos with this productivity app. It’s perfect for anyone who needs more than a long list of text reminders to ensure the job gets done.

It’s so much easier to recall important events and ideas when you can actually see them, which is why we’re recommending Photo Reminders. All you have to do is snap a photo of something related to the event or idea you want to recall later, and then add a title and note. The photo will be turned into a large thumbnail, which can easily be viewed, edited, and shared from the main screen. Additionally, Photo Reminders allows you to attach audio notes and alerts to all of your events and ideas.

Photo Reminders is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 7 ratings.
