Today’s apps gone free: Backgammon, TVShow Time, Albert and more
iPhone:
We’re big fans of any art creation app that makes it appear is if we even have a lick of talent, and Lead Sketch certainly delivers. It includes six lead pencil styles to choose from, all of which add that unique sketch look and feel as you move your finger across the screen. It also has eight border styles and paper styles to choose from, or you can utilize an image from your library. Undo and redo are available, because we all make mistakes.
Lead Sketch is available for free today only (09/04). It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 27 ratings.
We really enjoyed Albert thanks to its unique art style and methods of interaction. The game features a charming paper art style that provides Albert with even more character. Each of the mini-games require you to do something different, whether that’s tapping to turn off alarm clocks or tilting to steer a vehicle. The best part is, none of the mini-games are complicated, and you can just jump right in.
Albert is available for free today only (09/04). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 3674 ratings.
Universal:
We’re fond of Sports Betting because you get to start off with $4.99 worth of virtual currency to get your betting started. That’s right, you don’t even have to spend a single penny to show the world you know your sports teams. You’re able to make multiple bets for each game. Once you have put your money where your mouth is, just sit back and wait for the results. Betting history, and daily and weekly coin bonuses are also available.
Sports Betting™ is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 447 ratings.
We’ve always enjoyed Save the Cubes’ fresh take on the Lemmings-style genre, but now with it’s 2.0 update, it’s even better because the green cubes are zombies. Not only zombies, but zombies that wear Santa hats! The game is loaded with 48 challenging levels spread across four different zones, and you’ll come across new items that will assist you in your zombie slaying as you progress, keeping things nice and fresh.
Save the Cubes is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 29 ratings.
This is our favorite version of Backgammon in the App Store due to its massive online community. It’s always more fun to play with others, right? You’re able to play turn-based or live games of Backgammon via Game Center. You can choose to play with a friend or see how your skills match up against other players all over the world. The cool part is, you don’t have to sit around and wait to be matched up. You can actually hone your skills against intelligent AI opponents in single player games while you wait for a match to be found.
Backgammon Premium is available for free today only (09/04). It has a 4-star rating with a total of 790 ratings.
iPad:
We’re fans of TVShow Time thanks to its social approach to TV show tracking. Like every other app in its category TVShow Time allows you to add your favorite shows to your list. You’re able to find shows by name or find new ones by checking out those that are trending. After adding a show to your list, you’re able to see when new episodes are airing on your personal calendar. You can then discuss the episodes, as long as you have watched them already, with the bustling community of over 200,000 active members.
TVShow Time for iPad is available for free today only (09/04). It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 127 ratings.
