It's official: Apple will hold an iPad-centric media event on Oct. 16
Apple has sent out press invitations for an Oct. 16 media event to be held on the company’s Cupertino, California campus beginning at 10 a.m. PDT. The event is likely to focus on a new wave of iPads and Macs.
The upcoming event should feature the arrival of the “iPad Air 2″ and third-generation iPad mini. We’ll also probably hear about the public release of OS X Yosemite and the next-generation Mac mini and iMac.
The biggest unknowns are whether Apple will use this event to introduce the long-rumored 12.9-inch “iPad Pro,” and next-generation Apple TV. Given that the invitation says “it’s been way too long,” new iPods could also be in the offering. The last time Apple updated the iPod line was in October 2012.
As usual, AppAdvice will provide coverage of the event as it happens.
