One, unifying ESPN app launches on the App Store

ESPN has unveiled a brand new app for iOS. The unifying ESPN app replaces the ESPN SportsCenter app for iPhone and ESPN SportsCenter app for iPhone.

The new ESPN app features scores and highlights for U.S. and international sports leagues, including the NFL, MLB, and NCAA Basketball. Like on the iPhone-only version before it, the ESPN app allows users to follow their favorite teams. Simply tap the team icons in the lower right for quick access.

Other version 4.2 features include:

  • NEW: The ESPN App now looks beautiful on your iPhone 6 & 6+.
  • Introducing ESPN Now. Swipe right from the news section to access up to-the-minute ESPN photos, videos and social media content.
  • Cricket World Cup support, including video clips and scores.
  • Like Lebron, we took some time off in Miami to speed things up and fix nagging bugs.

As someone who doesn’t like separate apps for iPhone and iPad, I welcome the change being made by ESPN. Now, if it was almost football season again, I’d be really happy.

The ESPN app is available to download here.
