Update: iTunes is down, as is the rest of Apple's digital marketplace
Apple is experiencing a significant problem with both iTunes and iTunes Connect this Wednesday. The problem, which was first uncovered by TNW, has taken down the iTunes Store, App Store, and Mac App Store.
The actual stores aren’t completely down; rather, users are unable to log into their accounts to authenticate or make new purchases. Some broken pages also are noticeable.
Apple has yet to comment on this issue and the company’s system status page shows no current problems.
Update #1: The status page no longer has iTunes listed. Very, very strange.
Update #2: Users in some areas are reporting improvements. Not worldwide.
Update #3: To be clear, this is occurring throughout the world and is affecting Apple TV, iBooks, etc.
Update #4 (10:05 a.m. EDT): Still down.
Update #5 (10:16 a.m. EDT): Apple finally acknowledges the problem on the system status page.
