Catch all the best video moments with AfterCam, a video camera that records the past

I love taking videos of my kids and dogs, but I always miss the funniest moments because I can’t get the recording to start in time. Kemari, LLC has recently released an app that makes it much easier to catch those timeless moments, AfterCam. This app eliminates the need to record and edit hours of video just to capture the short, unpredictable highlights you’re really after.

AfterCam pulls this off by continually capturing video in an internal loop, but not saving anything until you tell it to. Aim your iPhone’s camera like you always do and pinch the screen if you want to zoom. When something happens that you want to save for posterity, a tap of a button will save a video clip of the past 5, 10, or 20 seconds.

If you want to take a still photo, you can do that from within the app without affecting the video in the slightest. One feature I really love about AfterCam is that the controls are duplicated on both sides of the screen, making it easy to use the app with either hand. Finally, a built in photo browser helps you manage your pictures and videos, as well as play back recordings.

AfterCam is available for $2.99 on the App Store, and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The app requires iOS 8.0 or later.
