Confidential CC is a secure communications mobile application that adds a revolutionary new feature to traditional email correspondence. The email platform features self-destructing, encrypted emails that can be viewed only once and cannot be forwarded or printed.

Already live on iOS and Android, Confidential CC is fully compatible with all major email providers, including Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Outlook, and any other IMAP account. The app features a universal inbox so you can access all of your email accounts in one place, and you can add as many accounts as you want. An upcoming update will allow non-users the option to read a Confidential CC email one time in their browser, after which they’ll receive a notification to download the full app.

Confidential CC utilizes end-to-end encryption to protect your messages, and the company’s servers never keep or log any of the data related to your email. No content is ever saved on your device or cached, and messages are decrypted and destroyed once read.

To prevent taking screenshots of emails, Confidential CC never displays the sender, subject line, or body of the message on the same screen. If a screenshot is detected, the app immediately alerts the sender and the message is deleted. The app only allows messages to come into focus when the recipient’s finger is touching the device, and Confidential CC integrates with Touch ID to provide an extra layer of security.

Other features in the app allow you to set a time to read later, schedule sending an email, and easily search for all attachments across your entire inbox. Furthermore, the app features quick actions that allow you to delete multiple messages at once with a single swipe and tap and quickly send unprotected emails as attachments.

According to Rachel Tigges, cofounder of Confidential CC, this revolutionary new capability is needed to help prevent information leaks and other misuse of email’s lack of privacy and protection:

Digital communications are under constant misuse today – from private emails being forwarded accidentally to malicious attacks threatening a business or government. The volume of email continues to increase exponentially with more than 100 billion emails sent each day. It’s problematic that email, which is free and open for all, is presenting such huge risk to users. Confidential CC gives the power back to every user to control the distribution of their messages and, in return, gives them the confidence they deserve as they communicate without leaving a digital trail.”

Confidential CC is available for free on the App Store, and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The app requires iOS 8.0 or later, and does not use in-app purchases or advertisements.
