Staying fit and healthy is important, but it’s a common myth that eating healthy is too expensive to undertake on a limited budget. Kevin Curry, founder of the Fit Men Cook community, hopes to help dispel that myth with his blog’s new titular app. Poring through every book he could find on nutrition, he started experimenting in the kitchen with four simple aims:
A) Food should be easy to prepare and affordable
B) Food should be vibrant and tasty, never boring
C) Preparing food in advance is important
D) Following a, b, c helps you stick to your goals
This new app includes more than 100 of Curry’s most popular recipes, providing the user with everything they need to prepare the healthiest and most delicious meals possible. There are even videos to show you how to prepare the dish. The app allows you to easily adjust the serving sizes of a recipe so you can scale the ingredients up or down easily without pulling out your calculator.
Fit Men Cook includes an Apple Watch companion that will help you shop for the ingredients you need to eat healthy. You just add the recipes you want to cook to your shopping list, and tap in the Apple Watch app to tick off items as you load them into your cart.
Each recipe lists calories, proteins, carbohydrates, and fat content. What’s more, Fit Men Cook integrates with Apple’s HealthKit to help you track your nutrition for the day. Other features include Instagram integration, sharing recipes with friends and family, switching measurements between cups and grams, and searching for a recipe by ingredient.
Fit Men Cook is available for $2.99 on the App Store, and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch.
