The news can be depressing and ridden with anxiety-inducing articles, and it can often make you think that almost nothing good ever happens in the world. The media tends to focus on the negative and people’s troubles, but there actually are feel-good stories published on a daily basis. GVO, a new release on the App Store, is a one-stop shop for the positive news and videos in our world.
Short for “Good Vibes Only,” GVO brings you news articles and videos that will lift up your spirits instead of bringing you down. Whether it’s an adorable animal video, the latest technological or medical advances, or funny social media videos, GVO will bring it to you.
The app has several categories for its feed, such as We the People, Animals, Science, Social Media, Celebrities, Music, Sports, News Events, and Video Games. GVO’s built-in Web browser allows you to quickly view stories and videos without leaving the app, and GVO’s editors are happy to include user-submitted content if it fits the mood. If you see a good vibe story that you want to share, the app will let you post it to your Facebook or Twitter timelines.
In a future update, GVO will see the addition of a Quote of the Day feature, which users can check regularly to start their day off right. The developers also plan to add a universal news feed with all of the categories combined into one, as well as a way to add favorites. Finally, the next update will feature a dynamic background that changes based on the time of day.
GVO is available for free on the App Store. The app requires iOS 7.0 or later, and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
