Sunrise Calendar and Wunderlist work together to merge your calendar and to-do list
If you want a comprehensive approach to managing your time, one that incorporates both to-do lists and managing events on a calendar, you usually have to install and use at least two apps. Then, you typically end up dealing with all of your to-do list tasks in one app, and using calendar software to manage your schedule. Sunrise Calendar and Wunderlist are looking to make time and task management more seamless with a new two-way integration between the two apps.
As recently announced on Wunderlist’s blog, the folks over at Sunrise have made it “super easy” to manage your to-dos in your calendar and even add to the task list from within your calendar. The integration is available to both the desktop and mobile versions of the apps, since it acceses the task list and calendar information by synchronizing over the Internet.
If you have lists in Wunderlist that you don’t want to appear in your calendar, it’s easy to disable them from within Sunrise. You just need to look at your Visible Calendars and deselect the to-do lists that you don’t want to appear on your daily or weekly schedules.
What’s really nice about this integration is that you can even add to your Wunderlist from within Sunrise Calendar. If you like to plan your week by assigning tasks to each day, you can add an event to your calendar, choosing the appropriate Wunderlist for that job, to send the to-do straight over to the task management app, including the due date.
Wunderlist says it is working to add even more integration in the future. The to-do list developers recently released a public API, and are expecting future updates that add integrations with Slack, Hipchat, Scanbot, and OneNote, among others. Wunderlist and Sunrise Calendar are both available as free downloads on the App Store.
