Today’s apps gone free: OnTop, Daphne, MiniatureCam and more
iPhone:
Daphne does away with finicky date selection screens and complicated settings. All you have to do to set a reminder is type or say what you want and when you want to remember it. Then just wait for the push notification. This allows you to use Daphne for more than daily reminders, as it can also act as a simple timer system. All of your reminders will be categorized automatically by date and time.
Daphne is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 5 ratings.
Ease of use is important when it comes to camera apps, and MiniatureCam passes the test with flying colors. The app features two types of blur effects that allow you to simulate a shallow depth of field and make your subject appear miniature. You’re able to change the focal point of both effects by sliding them around the viewfinder. The blur intensity, contrast, brightness, and saturation can also be adjusted via a slider. The best part is, the miniature effect can be used in both camera and video recording modes.
MiniatureCam – TiltShift Generator is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 167 ratings.
OnTop simplifies your schedule by breaking it down into two-week chunks. At the top of the screen is the calendar view, and at the bottom is a list of everything you need to accomplish in the next two weeks including your tasks. You’re able to swipe through the list of tasks and the calendar will automatically follow along. OnTop also allows you to import all of your already created events and tasks from Apple’s native apps, and you can add new events and tasks using natural language.
OnTop: Calendar & Reminders is available for free today only (05/02). It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 16 ratings.
Universal:
You can never have enough white noise apps, and Sleep Better is yet another solid addition to your collection. Sleep Better provides you with a simple and streamlined interface. It offers four different wave options, three of which vary in speed. Tap on the one you want and slide your finger across the bottom of the screen to set the sleep timer. That’s it. That’s all you have to do to lull yourself into a relaxed state of mind.
Sleep Better: Relaxing Waves is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 13 ratings.
