A fresh way to view photos with a classic concept is now available from Shutterfly. The TripPix app lets you collect your valuable digital photos into a real book that you can actually set out on your coffee table.

TripPix PhotosHere is how TripPix works. You start off by choosing 15 to 30 photos from your phone. You can then add maps of the places you visited with pins of where the photos were taken. You can also throw in icons such as rainbows, parks, and other items to emphasize parts of a trip, for example.

Once you are happy with your creation, you will receive the 6-inch by 6-inch book in the mail with a matte cover and bamboo stand. The book can hold up to 51 pages and the current price for all of this is $19.99, with free shipping.

TripPix BookTripPix accesses your device photos and pulls them in for you to choose which you would like in your book. An important note on this is that it will only load photos that have location data. The reason for this is to incorporate distances traveled and the length of your trip into the book. You also cannot upload photos from other sources like Instagram or Facebook. The photos must be saved on your device with location data.

The TripPix app is designed for iPhone and available for free on the App Store. Note that after trying this app, it seemed to freeze up when it could not pull in enough photos with location data. So, be sure that yours have that information before you begin.
