How long can you go phone-free? Enter the NoPhoneZone
The new app NoPhoneZone dares you to take a much needed break from your iPhone. Not only that, but your break will be tweeted automatically. Anyone checking your Twitter feed will know about you entering the “no phone zone,” so there is no hiding it.
When it is time for that break, you just type in the reason and click Go Offline. Your tweet will say that you are offline, provide the reason, and then include the NoPhoneZone hashtag and link.
The app will then display a timer along with some suggestions on how to spend your phone-free time or tips on how to get more of it. You will see things like “leave your phone at home when you go out to dinner,” “leave your phone at home and go to a museum,” and “put your phone away while you watch TV.” As soon as you close or navigate away from the app, the timer will stop and you will see a message stating how long you were phoneless.
Check out the global leaderboard or just your Twitter friends to see how you compare. Each board shows the total amount of time each user was phone-free.
How long can you go without using or even checking your phone? Test yourself and enjoy some time without it. NoPhoneZone is available for free on the App Store with no in-app purchases.
