The popular money-saving app Groupon provides great deals on products, services, and dining for millions of users. In a recent move, the company acquired food delivery service OrderUp in an effort to expand its services. Because of this, Groupon is now able to provide delivery and takeout options with vast savings to customers.
The new Groupon To Go service has not rolled out to every city yet within the app. So far there only appear to be listings for Chicago, Illinois. According to an article on TechCrunch, more cities such as Austin, Texas and Boston, Massachusetts are expected to arrive on the app this fall. But, if you visit the Groupon To Go website you will see many more options.
If you have your location settings enabled on your device for Groupon, you will see the new Delivery & Takeout section on the Nearby tab when it is available to you.
The Groupon app clearly shows your dining options along with the amount of savings, cuisine, distance, and price range. You can also filter your results by delivery or pickup. Then just make your selections from the menu, add the items to your order, and choose to either pick it up or have it delivered. If delivery service is not offered, that option will not be selectable.
The app also has a nice note stating that customers will automatically receive cash back on every Groupon To Go order. As you can see below, this does not apply to taxes or fees and is only available for a limited time. However, it is a terrific way to promote the new service.
The Groupon To Go service is a wonderful addition to the app that already saves customers money. There is nothing definitive yet about which cities will receive the service or how long it will take to roll out, so just keep checking nearby and with AppAdvice for updates.
