Today’s apps gone free: Star Walk 2, King of Math, Devil Shard and more
iPhone:
The great thing about Keep An Eye is that you don’t need to install any additional software on your computer. All you need to do is download the app on your iDevice, load keepaneye.mobi on your computer, and point your iDevice’s camera at the QR code on the screen. Put your mouse cursor within the circle, and any attempt to move the cursor, press a key, or even turn off the computer will send an alert to your iDevice.
Keep An Eye is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 6 ratings.
What makes iShows special is its ability to sort your shows. Instead of just showing them in alphabetical order or by the date they were added, you’ll always see the next episode you need to watch at the top. You can tap on a show to view poster and fan art, an overview, the cast, and the entire list of episodes. Notifications can and should be set up so you can be reminded when an episode is about to air, and you can mark off entire seasons or single episodes as watched. You’re also able to share and discuss what you’re watching with other TV fanatics.
iShows – Because We Love TV Shows is available for free today only (07/01). It has a 4-star rating with a total of 18 ratings.
Universal:
The evil emperor has started a war no one ever wanted. Play as the hero and put a stop to it before it’s too late. The game combines the now standard match-three mechanic to allow you to build up your defenses, restore health, and attack your enemies. You’re able to swap tiles on the screen by tapping one and then tapping on an adjacent tile. You don’t have to always create matches when swapping tiles, which will come in handy to help you avoid creating matches for your enemy. The game includes eight stages, 37 enemies to battle, nine incarnations to summon, 32 types of equipment to unlock, and achievements and leaderboards via Game Center.
Devil Shard is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 32 ratings.
Start out as a male or female farmer, and level up your character by answering math problems as quickly and accurately as possible. Each problem is presented on a separate page and includes up to four multiple choice answers, allowing you to easily focus on the task at hand. At the end of each round you’ll be scored and given a rating, which can be compared with players all over the world. The game includes 12 different mathematical categories, and achievements and leaderboards via Game Center.
King of Math: Full Game is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 685 ratings.
Star Walk 2 takes all of the features that made the original app so great and ups the ante in every way. It provides you with crisp and clear views of thousands of stars, planets, constellations, comets, satellites, star clusters, and nebulae. You’re able to navigate the night sky by holding your iDevice up or by panning around with your finger. Star Walk 2 also provides you with daily data on the current moon phase, time of sunset and sunrise, and the elevation of planets, making it easy to find the best time to head outside with your scope and enjoy the view.
Star Walk™ 2 – Guide to the Night Sky to Watch Stars, Planets, Meteor Showers & Constellations is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 1569 ratings.
