Get your free Camera+ and decipher the code names

The company Tap Tap Tap has shared some great news today, Sept. 10, regarding their hot Camera+ app. Not only have they introduced a free version of their camera app, but have also tempted paid app users with cool yet secretive upcoming versions.

Starting with the free version

In order to please those who do not like to pay for their apps but still want to take awesome photos and apply nifty enhancements, Camera+ Free is now available on the App Store. This free version of the app has the same features as the paid version, Camera+, for now anyway.

If you paid for Camera+ and are concerned about shelling out the cash while others get the same features for free, don’t be. You will be seeing updates to the app coming that the free users will not. To make things a little more fun, the company has provided a list of these versions with code names. Enjoy yourself by seeing if you can figure out what’s to come:

  • Camera+ 7.1: code name Peek & Poke
  • Camera+ 7.2: code name Show Slutter
  • Camera+ 7.3: code name Leguminous Green Manure
  • Camera+ 7.4: code name Picasso Looked an Awful Lot Like Mr. Roper
  • Camera+ 7.5: code name Fume Hood

Other current updates

Along with the announcement of the free version and cryptic code names for future updates, Camera+ did receive a few new things today as well. There is now a macro button in the Today widget, making the use of that handy feature even easier to access. In addition, improvements were made to certain gestures used within the app, for example, you may notice better swiping and pinching experiences.

If you are someone who does not like to mess with complicated camera or photography apps, then rest assured that Camera+ is easy to use. Taking photos with the stabilizer or burst option can be done with a tap. And, when it comes to editing, the options are plentiful and simple to apply. From filters and frames to highlights and tint, everything is in one spot and adjustments are intuitive.

Camera+ AdjustCamera+ Free and the $2.99 Camera+ are both available with Apple Watch support on the App Store. Each has optional in-app purchases for additional filters.
