Get your iPad Picture in Picture with Pocket, Hulu and more
So, you installed iOS 9 on your iPad and have checked out some of the great multitasking features already like Slide Over and Split View. Now it’s time to take a look at that very cool addition, Picture in Picture. Lucky for you several apps have already been updated to accommodate this awesome feature. Pocket, Hulu, BBC iPlayer, and MLB at Bat are ready and waiting for you to check them out.
How Picture in Picture worksThis new iOS 9 feature allows you to play your favorite show on Hulu, for example, down in the corner of your screen as you browse through Safari. Or, watch that cute kitten video you saved to Pocket while you see what’s new on the AppAdvice app.
Using the featureOnce you start playing the video, just select the icon and it will pop down in the corner of your screen. You can then click your Home button to open your other app. You can move the rectangle to dock it in a different corner, make it larger or smaller by pinching in and out, and then just close it by tapping the “X.”
More to comePocket, Hulu, BBC iPlayer, and MLB at Bat are just the apps we are aware of right now that have provided updates for Picture in Picture. But, more will be on the way soon, so be sure to check our favorites for this new feature. Remember, you will need an iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, or iPad Pro to use Picture in Picture.
