How quickly can you get an iPhone 6s if you preorder now?
So, you missed the first weekend preorder period of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Maybe that was deliberate, or maybe you were mysteriously abducted by aliens and couldn’t log into their Wi-Fi hotspot. Either way, now you’re ready to preorder, so how quickly can you get that new iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus? Sales of both devices have been strong, even exceeding Apple’s expectations, as I wrote earlier. So let’s take a look at where the supply levels stand right now.
For the purposes of this little evaluation, I’m going to assume that you want a 64GB iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus in the United States. This typically tells the whole story, and gives an excellent picture of your options if you want the device quickly.
If AT&T is your carrier, you can have the device in your hot little hands on Sept. 25, no matter what color you choose. Sprint shows the same delivery date, but T-Mobile and Verizon are lagging behind and report the device being available to ship in two to three weeks.
The iPhone 6s Plus is another story altogether. Shipping times for the handset on AT&T are running three to four weeks for all color options on all carriers. Obviously, Apple grossly underestimated the demand for the iPhone 6s Plus, so you’ll have to wait a while to get yours if you missed the beginning of the preorder availability.
Apple said they will have all of the devices, including the iPhone 6s Plus, available in Apple Stores when the brick and mortar locations open on Sept. 25. Just how many devices will be in stock hasn’t been revealed, so we might see another version of the iPhone campout taking place.
