If you live in the state of New York and like taking your chances at winning the lottery, but can’t always get to a retailer for your tickets, then you’re in luck. Jackpocket is an app that lets you order your lottery tickets, loads them to your account, and sends you alerts if you win.
First you choose the games you want to play, from Mega Millions to Powerball to the New York Lotto. Then you just pick your numbers or select a Quick Pick to make your purchase. Jackpocket then buys the tickets on your behalf, photographs them, and uploads them to your account. You will receive a notification when your tickets are ready for viewing.
Although there are plans to expand to other states like California and New Jersey, the app is currently only available for New York games. So, if you live in New York and are over the age of 18, you can play. If you end up holding a winning ticket, you will receive an alert. You can then choose to replay your winnings or transfer them to your bank account.

There are probably a lot of skeptics out there since the Jackpocket company works as a courier service and is not tied to any state lottery. But, the company states that they do not take a percentage if you win and since your tickets are connected directly to your identify via the app, no one else can claim your winnings. It actually seems like a good idea, the app is super easy to use, and lottery ticket sales could easily increase from the app. What are your thoughts on Jackpocket?
Jackpocket is universal and a free download on the App Store.
