New in this version
Version 1.2 of Periscope includes the ability to view broadcasts the way they were intended. Just turn your phone to see landscape-oriented broadcasts in full screen mode. You can still watch them in portrait view if you prefer, but finally watching them in a beautiful wide screen view is terrific.
What else is new
In addition to landscape view, you can now see a handy indicator when someone you follow shares their broadcast. In your home feed, this will appear right beneath the broadcast title. Also, you can share those broadcasts you are enjoying easily on Facebook and post either the link or the replay. Another convenient update includes an option to turn hidden chats back on by just selecting the Chat Hidden label.
Good enhancements
Definitely the best update today is the ability to view landscape broadcasts the way they were meant to be viewed. Seeing that widescreen view of broadcasts shot that way is a long time coming. Plus, adding that handy Facebook sharing option should get those awesome broadcasts more exposure.
Periscope is designed for iPhone and available for free on the App Store.
In related news, Periscope is apparently heading to the next-generation Apple TV.
