Review: PyXY shines with dressy bands for Apple Watch

Overview:
Ever since I got my Apple Watch, I’ve been envisioning a product like this. Taking a third party band and adding ornamentation is great. But I was hoping that someone would actually create a band from scratch, using jewelry findings and beads, for something utterly unique. PyXY has done this beautifully.
I was sent two bands to review. The first one, PyXY Apple Watch Band With Clasp, is black and silver, and has a toggle at the back. The adapters fit just right and slide in and out easily as intended. The toggle is easy to use one-handed. The fit is rather looser than what I’m accustomed to, but the watch still maintains contact with my wrist and feels comfortable. The black beads and silver-toned findings will go with quite a number of different outfits, adding unique style to casual and dressy casual wear.
The second one, PyXY Beaded Apple Watch Band, is designed with crystals and rose-colored pearl beads. This bit of sheen and sparkle lends quite a dressy look to the Apple Watch. It is just so pretty. The Beaded Apple Watch Band is one piece rather than two, so there is no clasp or toggle. Simply slide the adapters into place, and then pull the watch over your wrist. The band is stretchy, but not very, so it just barely slides over my hand onto my wrist. It fits perfectly once it’s on, not too tight or too loose. It’s not going anywhere, but it’s comfortable. In addition to rose, the band is offered with mint or smoke-colored pearl beads.
Bottom Line:
A common complaint from women about Apple’s bands is that none of them are really dressy. Some of Apple’s higher end bands such as the Milanese Loop and Modern Buckle are dressy enough for business attire, but not ideal for women’s cocktail and formal attire. The bands from PyXY are dressier than Apple’s upscale offerings while costing far less money. They add an element of individual style that Apple’s official offerings do not. They are certainly different than Apple’s clean aesthetic and smooth lines. But the Apple Watch is intended to be customizable, and PyXy’s offerings are a great option for some of us.
