Have you ever tried to type a text message while someone was looking over your shoulder? A new keyboard called Kibo realizes that your privacy is important. Whether you are in the office using Skype or at home using Facebook Messenger, this secretive way of communicating is just what you need.
After installing and enabling the Kibo keyboard, using it is quite easy. Simply type the message that you want to send privately, click the lock icon, and hit send. Your message will go to your recipient as a secret that they will uncover. For example, you may type “boy, is he a jerk,” but the message will display as a random statement like “I didn’t have Internet access then.” Once your recipient sees the hidden message, they just hold down on it, select copy, and will then see your what you actually wrote.
Kibo works with many popular services such as Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, WeChat, Skype, and more, including iMessage. You can also send non-secretive messages with Kibo, so it is useful as a regular keyboard as well. In addition, you can set up a passcode and use Touch ID for added security.
Kibo is easy to use and definitely works well. The only downfall is that your recipient must have the app installed as well in order to see your hidden messages. However, that is hardly a surprise if you want it to work right. The up side is that it works with so many other services that it functions as a keyboard and not a separate messaging app. So, give it a try for yourself and send those secrets.
Kibo is designed for iPhone and available for free with no in-app purchases on the App Store.
