If you are a Google app user for your searches on iOS, then you may have noticed a cool update yesterday, Oct. 7. With the intent of making search results more robust, the app now offers convenient, new features for adding reviews and photos to your favorite spots, and more.
New location features
Sharing your opinion about awesome local spots just became easier. You can now add your own star rating, write a review, and even attach a photo of your own without leaving the app. Just select the location from your search results and go. In addition, you can get instant map results within the app when searching for a location. This definitely makes getting to that new spot a lot simpler.
When searching for some funny animated GIFs using Google’s image search, you can now check them out with a tap. You don’t have to visit the originating website or open any other app to see those hilarious GIFs; just tap to play.
These features are nice additions to the Google app, as was the “Okay Google” enhancement in August. I pop open my Google search more times a day than I can say, so these may not be enormous improvements, but they are certainly handy ones.
The Google app is universal and available for free on the App Store.
In other news today, take a look at Update: You’ll get more battery life with some iPhone 6s devices and Apple Music doesn’t want to play the free tunes shell game.
