Become a viral short video loop superstar with Coub
Want to create your own video loop using multiple recordings? Sure, you could do that on the desktop with expensive video editing software, but why can’t you just use your iPhone to do it? With Coub, you can, mashing up different videos and creating a feature that loops, even including your own custom soundtrack, if you want.
Finding coubs
The app defines a coub as “a short looped video. It might be a funny scene, movie quote, animation, meme or a mashup of multiple sources.” Using Coub, you can find other people’s creations by following different channels. Some of the things you might find are downright hilarious. To get started with the app, you have to follow at least five channels.
Creating your own
You can use videos from your Photo Library, or shoot your own. You can also loop in videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Vine, and plenty of other online sites. Perhaps you want to mix a video of a giraffe knocking over a motorcycle with a giraffe actually riding one.
With Coub and some creativity, you can do just that.
Sharing your coubs
After you’ve created your masterpiece, you can easily share it with others. You can quickly send the loop to your friends on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Reddit, and many other social platforms. You might become the next viral superstar, if your video is snazzy enough.
Getting started
Coub is designed for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and requires iOS 7.1 or later. It’s free to download on the App Store, with no ads or in-app purchases.
