When it comes to turn-by-turn navigation, there are only a few apps that perform as well as Garmin-owned Navigon. The GPS app’s ability to work even when you don’t have an Internet connection is well worth the price you pay for it, because the maps are detailed and geographically limited to your country or continent to save space on your device. With the latest update to Navigon USA and the myriad of other Navigon regional apps, you can now enjoy the turn-by-turn navigation on your Apple Watch.
Easy directions, right on your wrist
With the latest update, turn advice is provided when you are coming to one. An easy-to-understand graphic tells you how far away your turn is, the name of the street, and a display of the actual change in direction you’ll be making. Haptic feedback helps alert you to the upcoming turn.
Avoid traffic and speeding tickets
Do you tend to have a lead foot? Navigon’s Apple Watch companion will remind you what the speed limit is. The app will also send information about traffic jams to your wrist. You’ll get notification of upcoming speed cameras in certain locales, and haptic feedback is included to let you know there’s something to check on your wrist.
Love for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus
The Navigon apps have also been updated to include 3D Touch support on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. If you deep press the app icon, you can start navigation home or to up to three favorite destinations quickly and easily.
Getting Navigon USA
Garmin’s apps aren’t cheap, but they are complete GPS solutions. Navigon USA is available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch for $49.99 on the App Store. The app requires iOS 7.0 or later.
