Today’s apps gone free: InTune, Drylands, Miximal and more
iPhone:
InTune was designed to do one thing and do it well. The app presents a pair of pitches. Your child must decide if the second pitch is higher or lower than the first. They must continue on until three questions have been answered incorrectly, after which they will be presented with their final score. Research has shown that the more someone uses InTune, the better their ear will be, so keep practicing! InTune also includes four modes, and leaderboards in order to add a layer of competition.
InTune – Improve and Test Your Intonation is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 164 ratings.
Universal:
Miximal is based on those flip books from your childhood. The idea is to mix and match the head, torso, and feet of different animals to come up with unique creations. Your child is able to simply swipe across the screen to change each part. They can tap on each part to see the goofy animations. They’re also able to tap the play button in the bottom right corner of the screen to hear syllables from each animal’s name combined.
MIXIMAL is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 15 ratings.
Leo and his father headed to the grocery store to pick up some items for breakfast. During their impromptu trip they came across a very large carton of eggs and just had to buy them, but what was inside was more than they bargained for. The app includes 23 pages full of interactive surprises, and the ability to follow along with a professional narrator.
Dino-Store is available for free for a limited time. It has a 5-star rating with a total of 32 ratings.
You’re able to quickly jump into the creation process by choosing a preset project, or you can create a more advanced project by fiddling with a whole bunch of customization options. The app includes support for front- and back-facing cameras, a listening mode to snap photos with sounds, a timer mode, all kinds of overlays, the ability to share videos via Facebook or Twitter, and numerous editing options.
OSnap! Pro • Time-Lapse & Stop Motion Camera is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 22 ratings.
The world has run dry. No water of any kind remains. The only nutrient left on the surface is “juice,” and the only way to create it is with special equipment. The people of Serenity were attacked and left with nothing to create this precious resource. It’s up to you, their prisoner, to help repair the machine and defeat those who are responsible. The game plays like a side-scrolling platformer, but with ridiculous amounts of depth. You’re able to improve your character with perks, take on huge quests, hack into computers and weapons, and uncover hidden secrets by exploring the vast landscape.
Drylands is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 100 ratings.
