Help your Stardroid keep the spaceways safe for everyone
Old unmanned spaceships drift aimlessly through the galaxy, jeapordizing the safety of intergalactic traffic. As a stardroid, your mission is to board these spaceships, find their reactors, and then blow them up. That’s the basic gist of Stardroid, a two-dimensional science fiction action title that’s recently landed on the App Store, but it isn’t as easy as it sounds.
Challenging obstacles
Stardroid’s mission is simple, but not easy. While the spaceships are unmanned, their security systems are still active. That means you’ll have to face security droids tasked with preventing you from completing your mission. There are also energy beams that can sap your power, along with laser fields that you’ll have to disable in order to continue your trek to the reactor room. Finally, you have to contend with finding hidden rooms and keycards to unlock some of the doors.
Controlling your stardroid
The controls for Stardroid are simple, but a bit finicky. You move your droid around using a virtual directional pad on the left side of the screen, and fire by tapping and holding the right side. You can choose in the settings of the game to have either automatic aiming or another directional pad for smooth, complete control over everything your stardroid does.
Beginning to clear the spaceways
Stardroid is designed for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and is available as a free download on the App Store. It requires iOS 6 or later and while there are no ads in the game, there are in-app purchases to help you buy energy for your droid and special weapons.
