Popular e-book reading app Shelfie now provides audiobooks
If you have a huge library of physical books and would prefer to have electronic copies of them, Shelfie by BitLit is a terrific app. You just snap a picture of your bookshelf, and Shelfie identifies which of your titles have electronic copies available. Then, you can download those e-books for free or at heavily discounted prices. Making the app even better, Shelfie has recently announced a partnership with Findaway to bring audiobooks to the app.
You mean I can get audiobooks in Shelfie?
In many cases, that’s exactly what this partnership means. Findaway is a leading audiobook distributor, and can offer bundles to readers on titles from Blackstone Audio, Gildan Media, Hachette Audio, HarperAudio, Naxos Audiobooks, and Scholastic Audio. It includes books from The New York Times bestselling authors Joe Hill, Harper Lee, Chris Kyle, Suzanne Collins, Michael Connelly, James Patterson, Haruki Murakami, Nicholas Sparks and David Baldacci. As of this writing, finding those audiobooks was still a challenge, unfortunately.
What’s it cost, though?
In some cases, the audiobook and e-book bundle will be absolutely free. In other cases, it will be heavily discounted. This means you can convert your physical library into e-books or audiobooks for free or close to it, allowing you the freedom and convenience of reading or listening to your titles in whatever way is most convenient for you.
Getting Shelfie
Shelfie by BitLit is designed for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and requires iOS 9 or later. Shelfie is a free download on the App Store without any advertisements, but it does offer in-app purchases for downloading e-books and audiobooks that aren’t free.
