Fan TV, the sleek and useful app for finding movies and shows from Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, and more, received a nice update today, Dec. 15. The app now provides television listings for shows, movies, and sports in a section all its own.
This great addition to Fan TV makes it easy to find the shows you want easily. After selecting your service provider, you can begin looking through the listings categorized by type and genre. For example, if you select movies you can choose from action, comedy, drama, and other genres. This is a handy way to sort TV listings rather than how some apps do it, which is by channel.
Once you select a genre that interests you, you can then see the day and time along with the channel. You can easily add any show to your watch list by tapping on it to navigate to the detail page. If you are a current Fan TV user, then you already know how useful the detail page is with a description, streaming options, cast and crew, reviews, and other helpful items.
The new TV listings feature offers another terrific option for finding those shows you want to see. While within shows, movies, or sports you can select From Your Watchlist to see if any saved shows are scheduled. This just makes the new feature even better.
A sensible update
The addition of listings to Fan TV makes perfect sense for an app like this. While you may still enjoy finding shows to stream across the current 54 service options, you now have more flexibility. And, categorizing the listings makes it even simpler to find that exciting football game, interesting documentary, or silly reality show for your night.
Fan TV is designed for both iPhone and iPad. It is available for free on the App Store without in-app purchases. Before you go, check out Popular e-book reading app Shelfie now provides audiobooks or Philips Hue bridge switches off support for third-party bulbs.
