The new Apple TV is out of this world, literally, thanks to a new app from Taphive. Space Telescope allows you to see high-definition imagery of the heavens from the comfort of your home.

Available for $2.99, Space Telescope features still photographs from the Hubble Space Telescope, European Space Agency, European Southern Observatory, and NASA. Relaxing music adds to the experience. At launch, Space Telescope features four sections: Solar System, Nebulae, Stars, and Galaxies.

Under Solar System, for example, you’ll see images and information about the Earth and other planets, plus objects such as moons, comets, and more.

Want to know how close the cluster Westerlund 2 or another celestial body is from Earth? Space Telescope has you covered.

Take a look:

Space Telescope looks promising, and I can’t wait to see how it develops in the months ahead. Adding high-definition video would make a good Apple TV app even better. Wouldn’t you agree?

Space Telescope is available on the Apple TV App Store.
