When it comes to keeping your devices charged on the go, you can end up really bogging yourself down with things. You need your power pack, the right cable, and the device itself. If you’re traveling and want to take your battery pack with you, you also need the charging cable for it. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could have everything bundled together in one slim package? The myCharge HubPlus is a rechargeable 6,000 mAh portable charger compatible with both tablets and smartphones. It comes with an integrated Apple Lightning and micro USB cable, both of which tuck away nicely in recessed compartments on the side of the charger. When the battery charger runs out of juice, you just plug it into any outlet with the integrated wall prongs.
Integration With iOS Devices
As long as your iOS device has a Lightning port, you’ll be good to go. I’ve tested the HubPlus with both the iPhone 6 and the first-generation iPad mini, and it effortlessly charges both types of devices without any complaints. I wish the cables were a tad bit longer or more flexible, but there’s only so much room to work with when you’re trying to keep the battery pack compact. Furthermore, the cables are sturdy enough that they should withstand quite a bit of use and even some abuse.
Use and Feel
It’s obvious that myCharge has put some thought into the look and feel of the HubPlus, because it fits together nicely with the Apple brushed aluminum aesthetic. It’s both sturdy and compact, making it easy to carry along when you’re on the run. The best part, though, is that it works splendidly. With its 3.4-amp maximum power output, it can recharge your device quickly.
You can even power up two devices at once, if you have one with a Lightning port and another that supports micro USB charging. I only wish there was a model of the charger that included two Lightning cables instead of just one.
