HeartWatch 2 is here with a complication and sleep tracking
A couple of months ago, we took our first look at HeartWatch, a handy app for keeping track of your heart rate while wearing your Apple Watch. Today, Feb. 11, the app has received an update taking it to version 2.0 with terrific new features. Now you can get an even clearer view of your heart rate data, see a summary of your day on your wrist, and check how well you slept.
New features in HeartWatch 2- Heart Badges show you at a glance how long you are in specific zones like resting and workouts
- The Apple Watch app gives you a nice summary of your day and is color-coded by zone
- The Watch complication lets you see your heart rate right on your Watch face
- Sleep tracking analyzes restlessness and overlays heart rate readings
- HealthKit measurements can be added using the force touch menu and then dictation
- Heart rate tracking for waking, regular, workout, and sleeping zones
- Notifications for high and low BPM along with daily and sleep summaries
- Calendar views for the different zones or your minimum and maximum readings by day

For both monitoring and tracking your heart rate, HeartWatch provides a great array of features and data. The notifications are wonderful for alerting you when you need it, the new Heart Badges make viewing your current zones easier, and the various ways to review your data over time is convenient. The app is simple to use and even provides some useful tips and information in the settings.
