Stations on SoundCloud provide a constant stream of tunes
If you were used to getting your streams of music with Apple’s free iTunes Radio and are not willing to shell out the cash for an Apple Music subscription to get them back, SoundCloud has you covered. Recently updated, the app now lets you create Stations based on tracks you are listening to for an endless stream of songs.
Creating your Stations
SoundCloud is already a simple app to use and creating your Stations is no different. You can do this from both the home screen and within a specific track. Just select the three-dot icon for more options and pick Start Track Station. It could not be easier.
Accessing your Stations
Getting to your new Stations is just as easy as setting them up. Pop open your Collection section and those recent stations will be conveniently displayed right underneath your Likes. Then just tap to open the station you want and start grooving.
Great way to connect and discover
SoundCloud is a terrific app for music discovery, lets you connect with pals, and also has some cool podcasts. Updates in 2015 brought listeners the ability to shuffle and play related tracks and also enjoy tunes on the iPad. The new Stations feature could not have come at a better time and is an excellent way to start off 2016. It will be interesting to see how this new feature plays in with the expected addition of subscriptions this year.
SoundCloud is designed for iPhone and iPad with Apple Watch support and is available for free on the App Store. You might also want to take a look at Apple no longer streaming iTunes Radio for free.
