Today’s Apps Gone Free: WatchNotes, Peek Calendar, Xibalba and More

Peek’s unified timeline view allows you to see how busy your next five days are with just a glance. On the right-hand side of each day is a single bar that indicates how many events are schedule. The longer the bar, the more events you have. Tap on a day to expand it and view event details. If you swipe left to right on an event you’re able to get a peek at how long it will last. You’re also able to add events by tapping and holding, and rearrange them just be dragging them through the vertical list. Peek has a couple of other neat tricks up its sleeve. If you cup your hand over the top of your iDevice, the current time will be revealed. If you give it a shake, you’ll receive a life event suggestion. The app also includes Monday or Sunday start options, two color themes, alarms, and a full calendar view.

WatchNotes is simple and effective. The app is broken down into separate sections for notes and tasks. You can add to either section from within the app itself, but what really makes it special is its Apple Watch and iOS 8 integration. WatchNotes’ Apple Watch app not only allows you to view all notes and tasks, but also create your own using dictation. If you’re running iOS 8, you’re able to create new notes and tasks via a Today widget as well. All content can be shared via email or Messages.

You must first install the free companion software on your home computer. Splashtop will then be able to automatically discover and connect as long as you’re on the same Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you’ll be able to access and view files on your computer, watch videos, play games, and listen to music remotely.
Splashtop 2 Remote Desktop for iPhone & iPod – Personal is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 178 ratings.
Universal:
It displays all of the events on your calendar in weekly clumps. Just swipe to turn the page and view upcoming or preceding weeks. Create new events by tapping and holding on a day, and edit events by tapping on their titles. You can also tap on a day’s title to enter the daily calendar view. The app includes the ability to jump ahead months and years with two and three finger swipes, and jump back to the current week with a long press on the top of the page.
Week Agenda Ultimate is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 237 ratings.
Based on the bestselling Blox 3D apps, this latest iteration opens a whole new world of creativity. Your child is able to start off with a blank canvas or they can choose from one of the six other pre-built worlds. Designing new structures and adding animated objects is as simple as tapping on an open spot within the world. Blox 3D World Creator includes everything from basic building blocks to animated wildlife. Your child can also change the time of day within their little world.

Xibalba is a blast from the past. Your journey begins in eerie Mayan catacombs, where your only defense is a basic automatic weapon. As you take down vicious enemies, keep an eye out for power-ups, new weapons, and dangerous traps. The game includes six environments, six types of enemies, and a dark ambient soundtrack, so make sure to put some headphones on.
Xibalba is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 448 ratings.

- It must have at least a three-star average rating at the time it goes free.
- The app must not have been free numerous times (3+) over the last six months.
- The free version of your app must not include ads.
