Funnel ($4.99 → Free, 22.2 MB): Find out what’s going on in the world with Funnel. Those who are short on time.

Funnel provides an overview of what’s happening all around the world. You’re able to choose from seven news sources including BBC, NPR, VOA, and CBC. Funnel will then provide you with hourly audio news summaries that can be played in the background. The app is also able to send notifications when new content is available.

Funnel is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 400 ratings.

Herotime: Smart Multi Stopwatch ($1.99 → Free, 41.3 MB): Time several athletes at once with Herotime. Coaches and teachers.

Herotime was designed to be used without looking at the screen. You’ll first want to set up your athletes and put them in whatever order you deem fit. Then select the participating athletes and start the timer. Herotime allows you to record times and splits for all of your athletes with a tap. The information can be sorted in various ways, stored locally, and exported to your favorite cloud service or as a CSV.

This is our favorite version of Backgammon in the App Store due to its massive online community. It’s always more fun to play with others, right? You’re able to play turn-based or live games of Backgammon via Game Center. You can choose to play with a friend or see how your skills match up against other players all over the world. The cool part is, you don’t have to sit around and wait to be matched up. You can actually hone your skills against intelligent AI opponents in single player games while you wait for a match to be found.

Backgammon Premium – Multiplayer Online Board Game is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 9624 ratings.

Addition and Subtraction Math Flashcard Match Games for Kids in 1st and 2nd Grade ($5.99 → Free, 43.9 MB): Your children can work on their addition and subtraction skills with this educational game. Parents and teachers with children ages five through eight.

Addition and Subtraction Flashcard Match Games creates a fun environment for your child to practice addition and subtraction in with its eye-popping visuals and positive encouragement. Your child can work on matching problems to their answers or matching problems to other problems. The difficulty can be adjusted by changing the number range and by showing the cards or keeping them face down. The game also includes a bubble popping reward after each round.

River Data ($1.99 → Free, 6.3 MB): Know what’s going on in the rivers around you with River Data. Fisherman, scientists, kayakers, and other river enthusiasts.

River Data is the ultimate river monitoring app. It includes updated river data from 14,000 USGS water monitoring sites. Sites can be browsed and searched through by state, name, or location on a map. You’re able to view yearly historical peak steam flow for sites, receive driving directions, share gauge data, store sites as favorites for quick access, and receive alerts.

River Data is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 50 ratings.
