Today’s Apps Gone Free: Memory, Backgammon, PirTie and More
iPhone:
Memory is a colorful note taking app. Swipe down to create a new entry, and tap on one of the colored circles to categorize it. Each entry is automatically timestamped. You can then sort your entries by color or display them all at once. The app also includes search, Touch ID support, and a Today widget.
Memory: Your Memo is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 71 ratings.
Universal:
Train Conductor has some brilliantly simple gameplay, which is also what makes it so much fun. Trains enter the screen from both sides with numbers attached to them. You must safely guide them to their matching track with a swipe without causing a massive collision. You’re able to stop a train in its tracks with a tap, but don’t wait too long because more trains are on their way. The game includes a variety of locations to visit, and Game Center integration.
Train Conductor is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 19872 ratings.
PirTie is a color explosion mapped onto a sphere. You’re able to swipe to move the sphere and pinch to zoom in and out. A single tap will change the colors. A double tap will change the pattern. A triple tap will capture a photo. PirTie also supports TV-out.
PirTie is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 15 ratings.
This is our favorite version of Backgammon in the App Store due to its massive online community. It’s always more fun to play with others, right? You’re able to play turn-based or live games of Backgammon via Game Center. You can choose to play with a friend or see how your skills match up against other players all over the world. The cool part is, you don’t have to sit around and wait to be matched up. You can actually hone your skills against intelligent AI opponents in single player games while you wait for a match to be found.
Backgammon Premium is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 10541 ratings.
