Get all kinds of location information from Notification Center with SkyWidgets.

It’s the ideal app for those who like to populate their Notification Center with as much information as possible.

Why we picked this?

SkyWidgets puts a ridiculous amount of location information right at your fingertips. Before you do anything, launch SkyWidgets and select your preferred units of measurement. Then swipe down on Notification Center and scroll all of the way down to the bottom to add all three data categories. SkyWidgets will show you everything from your current address and barometric pressure to your heading and velocity right in Notification Center. All of the information is updated in real time.

If you need location data at your fingertips, SkyWidgets will put it there.

SkyWidgets offers some interesting data, but none that really seems necessary enough to take up loads of space in Notification Center. If you like keeping things tidy, you’re going to want to skip this one.

Thyme - A Modern Kitchen Timer

Thuy Gia Nguyen

Ensure you never overcook another meal again with this simple timer app.

It’s perfect for home cooks with basic four-burner ranges.

Why we picked this?

Thyme stays out of your way, allowing you to efficiently whip up your best meals. The app’s simple interface displays four burners and one oven. Tap on whichever one you’re going to utilize on your range and spin the timer to set it. That’s it! You’re able to have all five timers going at once and receive push notifications as they expire.

If all you want is a simple timer app for cooking, Thyme is it. It’s basic interface requires zero setup.

If your range isn’t the standard four-burner, this app simply won’t work for you.

Montgomery Guilhaus

Defend your Orbsorber from the incoming colored ORBs at all costs in this fast-paced action game.

It’s for gamers who enjoy competing for high scores.

Why we picked this?

You're in charge of the great and powerful Orbsorber, a neon marker in the middle of the screen with a smaller ORB circling it. The smaller ORB serves as a shield, and you must slide your finger around the joystick to block incoming ORBs that don’t match your marker. If you fail, your marker will be carved away bit by bit. Simply put, if you lose focus for only a brief moment your poor Orbsorber will take a beating, and you really, really don’t want that.

Orbsorber is all about quick, intense action. If you only have a little time to spare in between activities, this arcade game is for you. It’s also a great way to show off your quick reflexes thanks to the Game Center leaderboards.

The gameplay can feel repetitive if you play constantly for more than a few minutes at a time. The difficulty also ramps up rather quickly, so if you’re looking for something relaxing to play, steer clear.

Why we picked this?

Baal is a little red devil with a ton of personality and a high tolerance for pain, which is why we enjoy beating him up so very much. The animated, hand-drawn Baal will dance around, shape shift, and do whatever else he wants if left alone, and that’s where you come in. Baal needs to be roughed up because he totally deserves it! You’re able to interact with Baal in a wide variety of ways. Your imagination is the only thing holding you back from seeing the thousands upon thousands of hilarious and wacky animations.

If you’re feeling a little on edge, give Stress Baal a try. Even if it doesn’t relieve your stress, you’re going to have a lot of fun beating up on Baal.

The app is really meant for entertainment purposes only.

Suxxexx

This digital notebook is not only easy to use, but also easy on the eyes.

It’s the ideal app for those who need to categorize notes or thoughts.

FREE ($0.99) For a limited time FREE ($0.99) For a limited time
Why we picked this?

We’ve always enjoyed NOTE’d, but its latest update makes it better than ever thanks to its completely new iOS 8-inspired design. Choose any one of the 17 fantastic notebook styles, and then add text notes, audio memos, location data, and images. Notebooks can be renamed, passcode locked, rearranged, and backed up and restored via Dropbox. The app also includes the ability to bookmark notes, view all of the notes from all of your notebooks at once, and share notes via Twitter, SMS, or email.

This is one pretty notebook app, so if you’re all about style, download it right now.

Outside of being stylish, NOTE’d doesn’t offer anything new or different than the competition. If you already have a preferred note taking app, stick with it.

Keep track of all of your important ideas and events with this colorful productivity app.

It’s great for remembering everything that matters to you.

Why we picked this?

Sticky Notes HD can be used for just about anything. It allows you to create an unlimited number of sticky notes. Each note can include a title, endless amounts of content, priority level, and alarm. You’re also able to highlight them with one of 20 colors. All of the notes on the main screen can be sorted alphabetically or by priority level, and you can even choose to hide specific colors. The app also includes the ability to adjust the size of your notes, iCloud support, the ability to snap a screenshot, and an optional widget in Notification Center.

If you’re constantly forgetting little things throughout the day, Sticky Notes HD will fix that for you. Its Today widget makes it even more handy, as your notes can appear right in Notification Center.

If you’re content with Apple’s built-in Notes app, there’s no need to even try Sticky Notes HD. It has a bunch of features you won’t utilize.
