My Naughty Shadow is a charming story of a little girl who can’t control her shadow. It follows her around wherever she goes, but won’t take any direction. Your child can experience the rhyming story all on their own or they can follow along with the professional narration. Each page is littered with adorable interactive animations that can be highlighted for easy discovery.

If your little one enjoys a good story, download My Naughty Shadow today. The production values are top notch.

It is rather short, and the theme may not be ideal for every child.

It’s a great for anyone who has a friend to duel with locally.

Why we picked this?

Pick a side of the screen and prepare for a duel to the death. A square box below your samurai will fill up with a symbol. The first player to correctly trace the symbol will land a blow to their opponent. You must land three blows to claim victory. The game includes a total of five symbols, or weapons, to master.

If you enjoy local multiplayer games, add this one to your collection. It’s not complicated, but it’s totally unique.

The game is relatively shallow. You only have five symbols to master, and there aren’t any power-ups or other game modifiers.

ALEXEY BRILEV

Measure just about anything with your iDevice with Flying Ruler.

It’s great for projects around your home.

$1.99 $1.99
Why we picked this?

Flying Ruler allows you to measure distances and angles just by moving your iDevice. You’ll have to calibrate your iDevice first by placing it in six different positions, but once completed you’ll achieve a degree of error of one percent or less. Each of the five different modes provide detailed written instructions and a demonstration video. The app also includes multiple themes to choose from.

If you don’t have a ruler or protractor readily available, download Flying Ruler today. It works like magic.

Accuracy varies by iDevice. Older iDevices like iPhone 4 will have an error rate that’s much higher. Also, if you have a case around your iDevice, you’ll have to measure it to help improve accuracy.

Numerity - Find images in numbers

Zedarus Entertainment Ltd.

Discover and highlight numbers until they form an image in this puzzle game.

If you enjoyed Blueprint 3D from the same developer, you’re going to love Numerity.

$0.99 $0.99
Why we picked this?

Numerity is about as relaxing of a puzzle game as you’ll find in the App Store. You’re asked to find numbers within a cluster as quickly as possible in order to form an image. You can get a closer look at the cluster using the usual pinch to zoom gestures. Hints are available, but they will cost you. The game includes five theme packs, 50 levels, and iCloud support.

If casual is your thing, this is your game. Numerity has an enchanting soundtrack to go along with its clean and minimalistic design.

If you’re not into seek and find games, Numerity won’t do much to change that. It’s a relatively slow paced game that won’t exactly get your heart rate up.
