Why we picked this?

Choose your incarnation and begin your ride through visually stunning landscapes by artist Jona Dinges. Like other games in the genre, all you need to do is swipe to steer your character around, over, and under obstacles. Collect coins, complete missions, and travel as far as possible in order to unlock new items and climb the leaderboards.

If you can’t get enough of the infinite runner genre, this is a visually unique take on it.

The game can bring older devices to their knees. There’s also not much new in terms of gameplay.

It’s perfect for chefs, athletes, and anyone else in need of keeping track of the time.

Why we picked this?

Pronto doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it just makes it easier to use. To set a countdown timer, simply turn the dial to adjust the minutes and slide your finger across the bottom to adjust the seconds. Hit start and wait for the alert tone. The app is able to run in the background along with a countdown timer that’s conveniently displayed as an icon badge. Pronto also includes timer history, allowing you to reuse them.

If you like to keep things quick and simple, download Pronto. It’s one of the best and easiest to use timer apps in the entire App Store.

Pronto is dead simple, and maybe to a fault. It lacks a lot of bells and whistles found in similar apps.

A cropping option is also available to ensure the whole photo doesn’t get smoothed over. Your finished product can be saved or shared via your favorite social media networks.

Smoothing over your blemishes couldn’t be easier.

The feature set is very limited. Its focus is smoothing over skin.

Owen's Odyssey

Brad Erkkila

Help Owen fly around all kinds of dangerous obstacles in this genre-mashing arcade game.

It’s for anyone who enjoys Flappy Bird and classic platforming goodness.

$1.99 $1.99
Why we picked this?

Owen’s Odyssey has a little bit of everything. Owen is armed with only a propellor hat, and he needs your help making it through a castle full of spikes, saws, fires, falling rocks, lava, and creatures of all shapes and sizes. To do so, simply tap the right side of the screen to fly ahead. Tap the left side to stop Owen in his tracks. Try to beat the target time in each level to earn an extra life, because otherwise you will not make it through all 40.

If you enjoy a challenge, Owen’s Odyssey will give you one. It has all of the frustratingly difficult qualities of Flappy Bird mixed in with classic platforming tunes and obstacles.

The controls can take some getting used to, so you’ll have to put the time in to master them.
