Drillaby Pro Speech Therapy

Drillaby Pro Speech Therapy

SLP TechTools

Drillaby is a speech therapy game designed for SLPs to use for articulation drills. Drillaby is appropriate for kids in preschool through mid-elementary. The app is designed to give kids lots of practice opportunities while playing a motivating game. The object of the game is to get Drillaby through four different areas on an island and then home! The child must produce sounds correctly in order to get Drillaby on a boat and off the island.

Drillaby was designed by certified speech-language pathologists. This articulation game includes a choice of six sound groups: /k/-/g/, /t/-/p/, /v/-/f/, /sh/-/ch/, /l/, /s/ and /s/ blends. There are three levels of difficulty including words in carrier phrases.

Drillaby is an excellent complement to the SLP Minimal Pairs app for iPad, providing more words and levels of difficulty for practice.

A great benefit of Drillaby Pro is the way it reinforces homework between therapy sessions. Therapists can recommend a single sound group version of Drillaby, which specifically targets the appropriate sound for kids to work on when parents ask for homework ideas.

All sound groups can be presented in US, UK or AUS accents. Session records can be viewed for each student within the app or emailed as a .CSV attachment.

Learn Sound Differences-

The purpose of learning sound differences is to develop awareness of what the mouth, vocal chords and ears do when learning sounds. There are more than one million persons in the United States who stutter, of which one half are children. Sound differences are the foundation upon which reading, writing and spelling skills can be developed.

Vocal and Mouth Feature-

Did you know that some sounds use the same mouth shape? Some sounds just need a little air, while other sounds need voice. Recruit iMouf and Twinkle Star to help children understand the features that make sounds.

Real Life Environments-

Finding time to address sound differences can be tough, so lets take learning to the grocery store, park, and swimming pool! Spend 5 minutes practicing speech sounds, and make learning fun on the run!

Dance and Rap-

Engage your whole brain in the learning process by dancing and rapping through the lessons. These songs stick in your head, and so will the content!

Record Own Speech-

Listening to your own speech increases self-monitoring skills and learning independence! Recording your speech helps identify the mistakes so you can practice making the sounds correctly!

Meet the Characters-

Twinkle Star: Teacher

iMouf:  Student. Believes in singing, rapping and dancing when learning.  He also likes to get outside and move!

The Lesson-

The lesson is a virtual speech therapy session. Each lesson helps to identify where your child is at in their speech development and what they can do to improve. You should spend a lot of time on these lessons if your child or student is struggling with reading, writing, spelling or saying the sounds correctly. Some therapists and teachers will spend up to three weeks on just two sounds. These lessons help children to understand how the mouth works during speech production and how the air feels while pronouncing sounds. When you teach sounds with tactile and visual stimulation you create a multi sensory environment in which the child/student can thrive. During the lesson we recommend a parent, teacher, or teachers aide to be present.

The Scenes-

We have developed 8 different scenes that most children are familiar with. The reason why we picked familiar scenes is so that parents/caregivers have the opportunity to practice the sounds in real life situations.  For example, if you are working on the P and B sounds you get to go to the zoo. Each scene is packed full of objects which iMouf will help the students to identify. When he is finished the child/student can find the target words listed at the bottom of the screen and record their own voice while practicing the target words.  You can stay and play on each scene for as long as the child/student wants to.  You can screen shot or print the scene to use at home or in school.

The JAM- Each scene features a JAM that highlights targets words and sounds in a musically relevant format.  During the JAM experience users will be able to see or read the lyrics while the song is playing. The purpose of adding the JAM button was to address needs of children/students who are able to read but may not understand sound discrimination. Rock on!

Speech Therapy for Apraxia-4

Speech Therapy for Apraxia-4

Blue Whale Apps Inc

This app is a convenient, effective tool for:
• children with childhood apraxia of speech/dyspraxia
• adults with apraxia
• anyone working with individuals with apraxia, either therapists or parents
• can also be used for traditional articulation practice

As with the original Speech Therapy for Apraxia app, this app presents phonemes in simple syllables. However, this time the syllables have the consonant sound at the end, allowing for practice of final consonant production.

This app is a fun way to practice basic speech sounds and motor planning. Because the emphasis is on the individual’s production, the parent or therapist should be an active participant, providing the user with feedback, reinforcement, and additional modeling. This app is not intended for independent use by the child/student.

Speech Therapy for Apraxia - ENDINGS is intended to be the next step in a progression after the two-syllable words of our previous app, Speech Therapy for Apraxia – 2 Syllable Words has been mastered.

** FEATURES **
• Choose from 6 different consonant groups (for a total of 15 consonant sounds) to target.
• Detailed instructions explain how to choose an appropriate sound group and practice level.
• Moves through a logical progression of 8 different levels for motor planning for speech.
• Illustration and audio provided for each syllable.
• Option to repeat levels, reset, or move to next level.
• Can also be used for straight articulation drill for particular types of phonemes.

* NEW PROGRESS TRACKING OPTION REQUIRES IN APP PURCHASE. PROGRESS TRACKING IS NOT INCLUDED WITH BUNDLE OR INDIVIDUAL APP, IT HAS TO BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY*
• Track and save the progress for each user so that you can resume each consonant group and level from where you left off. Great for SLPs who wants to use this for multiple users.
• Sharing your progress via email directly from the app allows for communication between therapist and parent. For parents, practice at home and email your progress to therapist.

Developed by the National Association for Child Development team, including a certified speech-language pathologist, this app practices articulation at the word level and is a logical follow-up to the original syllable-based app, Speech Therapy for Apraxia. This newer version provides choices of different patterns of articulation within words and moves through a progression of levels that challenge motor planning for speech. It begins at the production of single words with easier patterns of articulation and progresses through increasingly more difficult production sequences all the way to the production of sequences of random words.
