Campus Swap is your simple, local, and safe resource for buying and selling college textbooks.
Created by college students for college students, this free app will allow you to by-pass crazy high bookstore costs and the hassle of shipping a book from across the country.
It’s a green initiative in more ways than one. Recycle your books into the hands of those who need them and get a better value at the same time.
How it works:
It’s simple. Scan the barcode, or search the isbn/title and select your book to sell or the book you want to buy. Built in messaging within the app quickly allows you to agree on a safe “Swap” location to make the sale. You can choose to pay with cash or credit card option through Stripe.
Campus Swap works hard to protect all of your personal information and maintain as easy to use as possible.
In-App Messaging: No need to give out your number, address or even your name. Our in-app messaging is just a small part of ensuring that buying and selling textbooks (swapping) is safe and simple.
Barcode Scanner: Post a book in 10 seconds or less with our simple barcode scanner.
Credit Card Transactions: No need to have cash on hand when buying a textbook, and with Stripe your information is kept private and safe.
Purchasing Options: Every time you search for a book, you will see Campus Swap as well as Amazon results. If you can’t find what you’re looking for on your campus, you can safely purchase from Amazon directly from our app.
Pre-set meeting locations: In an effort to save you time and make the swap process as safe as possible, we have incorporated selected businesses and campus locations for swaps to take place.
TextbookIt is an app that allows users to buy and/or sell textbooks. This app is designed for students on college or even high school campuses. This app is optimized for the iPhone 6 and 6 plus.
Buying: If you are looking to buy a textbook for an upcoming class, just search for the book by its title or 13-digit ISBN. When searching for a book to buy, you can search within a 1 to 15 mile radius. Just adjust the slider to the mileage you prefer. When you add a book to your buying list, contacting the user is a simple slide and tap away. If you swipe left on a book in your buying list you will see multiple options. Just tap the "Text" option and a messaging screen will appear allowing you to text the user. This allows for quick book exchanging. When you're done buying the book, simply swipe left and click "Delete" to remove the book from your "Books I'm Buying" list.
Selling: If you are looking to sell textbooks from your previous classes, all you have to do is either quick-add the book or manually add the book. Quick-add is a feature of Textbook It powered by Open Library's large database of books. Simply enter the 13-digit ISBN of the book you are wishing to sell and the app will search Open Library's database for that book. The app will pull up the title, author, publisher, and an image of the book if it is available. You then enter the price you wish to sell the book at and click "Sell". If Open Library does not have the book you wish to sell stored in its database, you can manually sell the book. This allows you enter the details of the book, add a picture, and then sell the book. When you add a book manually, it is saved so that other users will not have to manually add that book again. TextbookIt requires your cell phone number so interested buyers can contact you. You can add your phone number by going to your account settings. Once you sell a book or decide to not sell the book, simply swipe left and click "Delete" or "Sold" to remove the book from your "Books I'm Selling" list. If you choose "Sold", you can view the books you've sold in your account settings page.
*Instead of spending incredible amounts of time and money buying textbooks for your upcoming classes, buy them from your fellow students using TextbookIt! Instead of having to go online to sell your textbook, sell it using TextbookIt!
Buy & Sell Used College Textbooks | Peer to Peer Marketplace |
Textbooks To Bucks is the premier peer to peer site for college students to buy and sell used and cheap textbooks.
Textbooks To Bucks was created to solve the biggest problem all college students have. Overpriced Textbooks.
Campus bookstores only carry the newest, most expensive editions of books, and when you try to sell them back the same book after the semester, they force you to discount the price at least 75%-"wear and tear", they call it.
Major online retailers are no better. They sell a comparable, but slightly older edition of your book for only a few pennies less. After shipping and handling it's totally not worth it.
When you don't need the book anymore, online retailers offer no way of selling back your book to them. Great, time to sell your $300 book back to the bookstore for $7.23, right? Wrong.
*fancy intro time*
Textbooks To Bucks is here to solve just that!
It’s simple. Sell the books you have and don’t need, and only buy the ones you do. With students just like you. All on your terms. Feels good right?
