We're taking a look at the best new apps that arrived on the App Store in January. Some of our choices include a Vine successor, an app that blends productivity and wellness, and a great way to shoot video from two iPhone cameras at the same time.
A New Kind of Vine
Anyone who used the Vine app should be right at home with Byte. You can video six-second, vertical videos and even create your own. On the search tab, there is a wide variety of different categories to select from. It’s also easy to create a profile page and customize it with a photo and more.
The app allows you to capture video from two cameras simultaneously. To begin, the camera picker view shows all of the available cameras so you can select which view to include in the shot. Along with using a front and rear-facing camera at the same time, you can also select a combination of rear lenses.
A Note-Taking Focused Keyboard for Apple Watch
From the maker of the FlickType Keyboard, the new option is designed for note-taking on the watch. Just like the original app, the notes version of the keyboard is actually very easy-to-use on the Apple Watch, especially with the larger screen of the Series 4 and Series 5. It’s a more traditional option where you can see what you’re typing while entering the text. When done entering information, swipe down to see all of the text.
