Using a camera, a built-in laptop webcam, or Magic Shutter for iPhone, you can now photograph 3d holographs of images that you draw, upload from your photos, or choose from over 450 old school 8bit video game characters.

EVEN IF YOU HAVE A DSLR CAMERA, using the webcam software will help you get the hang of creating your holographs by allowing the photographer to watch their holograph expose in real time!

HOW TO CAPTURE YOUR HOLOGRAPH:
(Please reference the sample instructional videos on either 8bitapp.com or within the application.)

1. Download the free webcam software from 8bitapp.com or set your DSLR for long exposures.

2. Within the app select and/or draw your image(s) and update your display options as desired.

3. Dim or completely darken the room and adjust your ipad brightness accordingly (suggested brightness: approx 10-20% for a very dark room).

4. Select "Make!" to initiate the holography: after the screen goes black, turn on your camera and tap the ipad screen anywhere with 1 finger and very slowly drag the ipad from one direction to another while the pixels process.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU CANNOT SEE THE HOLOGRAPHS WITH YOUR NAKED EYE. You are capturing PHOTOGRAPHS of your 3d transparent light images and/or "HOLOGRAPHS". ***While using the 8bitapp.com free built-in webcam software you can interactively watch the holograph develop as you move!

It will take a few tries or more to create a good exposure you are satisfied with. Think of this as your holographic "bracketing" to find the right dimness of light, exposure speed, and speed at which you move your ipad.
