Make the call, save lives. Use this simple app to help you identify and report instances of human trafficking.
Human trafficking, a term for modern-day slavery, is a $150 billion worldwide industry with more than 21 million people enslaved. It has been reported in all 50 states, and the number of victims in the United States is estimated in the hundreds of thousands.
While illegal, human trafficking is a booming business, second only to drug trafficking. Most of the people trafficked are women and children. Many of them are used in the sex industry. They are the prostituted people on the street, at bus terminals, bus stops, hotels/motels, etc. They need help. They need to be identified and rescued.
This is where you come in! Busing on the Lookout (BOTL) recognizes that members of the busing industry and individual bus drivers are invaluable in the fight against this heinous crime.
The goal of BOTL is to educate and equip all members of the busing industry with the necessary information to enable them to fight human trafficking as part of their everyday jobs.
BOTL aims to:
-Train every bus driver, whether passenger or school, as well as all bus terminal employees, with BOTL materials.
-Display BOTL materials in bus terminals in the hopes victims will see them and self-report.
-Partner with law enforcement and government agencies to facilitate the investigation of human trafficking cases discovered through the bus industry and disseminate that information to our partners in the bus industry.
