Secure identity on your mobile device

The ShoCard app allows for creation of a digital identity. The app allows users to scan Driver License, Passport or other government issued IDs. Additionally the user can create a profile card that will hold their recently capture selfie.

The ShoCard app uses Bluetooth LE primarily for discovering other ShoCard App users in the close proximity to the current App. Users have to turn on BLE discovery mode explicitly by clicking on the bluetooth icon at the bottom right of the main screen to enable this feature.

A ShoCard app user can then share the data with other ShoCard users. The process of sharing involves discovery of the other user's "ShoCard ID" via QR code scan or Bluetooth LE discovery.

For Bluetooth LE discovery the sender ShoCard App advertises a known UUID and a specific major and minor version. The recipient ShoCard app scans for the known UUID and looks up the user's ShoCard ID from a mapping server, given the advertised major and minor version. The data exchange happens securely over TCP/IP using ShoCard servers for routing.
