Not sure if bad weather will catch you? Check it out in Silesia Alert! You will see the current situation on the maps and we send warnings about 30 minutes before the threat
This innovative application is essential for mountain hikers, sailors, runners, athletes, for walking and cycling. It will be useful to protect a car parked under a cloud and other valuables that can be destroyed by hail or other hazards accompanying storms. This is the best weather app.

Silesia Alert, unlike most applications that use generally available weather radars, has its own ultra-modern and extremely precise warning generator. So far it has been used for scientific purposes and now it has been made available for our application. Radar located at the Goczałkowice Reservoir in the Silesian Voivodeship. Its range is a radius of 200 km, thanks to which it covers the entire Silesian Voivodeship, part of Lesser Poland and the province of Opole, as well as a large part of the Tatras and Beskids.

How does the Silesia Alert app work?
Our application is an innovative tool that analyzes radar data in real time, checking whether there are storms within the radar range and whether there is a risk of extreme phenomena such as hail, strong wind, whirlwinds or torrential rainfall. The application therefore replaces the user in the independent viewing and interpretation of radar data.

Weather warnings and alerts
An innovative algorithm that detects the risk of dangerous phenomena operates in 39 largest cities within the radar range, i.e. within a radius of 200 km from Goczałkowice-Zdrój, where our radar operates. If a storm occurs within a radius of 15 km from a given city from a list of 39 cities, which meets the criteria of specialized radar parameters, talking about possible threats, a threat warning is issued. In this case, the application sends a notification immediately after issuing such an alert.
There are 6 degrees of danger. No threats mean no notifications and the green color of the icon in the application next to a given city. If a strong storm is detected, alerts are displayed with grades ranging from "1" (lowest) to "5" (highest). "5" represents the greatest threat and the course of the storm can be very violent. Receiving a warning means that within a radius of 15 km from the geographical center of the selected city, there is a strong storm at the moment, which may also pose a threat to us in the next few minutes, thanks to which we have a few or a dozen (sometimes more) minutes to react.

Attention! For the proper functioning of the application, it is required to grant consent to send notifications and constant access to the Internet. The application does not generate warnings before every storm,
and only against storms, which may be accompanied by the extreme phenomena listed above. The application does not issue winter warnings and warnings against phenomena not related to thunderstorms. Each alert generated by the app is valid for 30 minutes from the time it is issued. If there are no new warnings for a given city after 30 minutes, it means that the threat has passed. The application is operational from the beginning of April to the end of October. It achieves the highest efficiency in relation to strong hailstorms.
The creators are not responsible for the negative effects of using the alerts generated by the application. This information is for illustrative purposes only and cannot replace warnings issued by the National Hydrometeorological Service, i.e. the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management - National Research Institute.
