An Accomplice Is What You Need for Food or a Ride, but Is This It?

An Accomplice Is What You Need for Food or a Ride, but Is This It?

September 5, 2017

You're bogged down with apps on your iPhone for different services. You've got one for rides, a different for food delivery, and maybe you're fortunate enough to live in an area that allows liquor deliveries for your parties. You need an accomplice to bring all of that together, and there just might be one for you. With the app Accomplice, you can call up a ride or order food delivery or pickup, from one app.

Choices in rides

There are several ride-sharing options available, but it's nice to be able to comparison shop. While Accomplice isn't integrated with Uber, it does offer you some choice in both provider and price.

Right now, Accomplice uses Lyft and a newer ride-sharing service, Flitways, to give you some options in requesting a ride. If you've got the time to wait and would like to save some money, Lyft seems to be the way to go.

On the other hand, sometimes you're in a hurry to get somewhere and don't mind paying a bit extra to do that. Thanks to Accomplice's integration with Flitways, you have that choice.

In my area, at least, I can select rides that will arrive in 10-15 minutes for a fairly inexpensive fare. On the other hand, if I'm in a rush, I can choose a ride that will show up at my door within five minutes. I'll pay more for that option, but it's nice to have the choice.

Accomplice integrates perfectly with your existing Lyft account, and actually works better for on-boarding to Flitways than that service's own app.

What's really nice is that you can view all of your past orders, for rides and food, in one location. The order history page keeps track of all of that for you, so you can see how your prices might change over time.

Accomplice has an open call out to ride-share and food delivery/pickup providers for even more partners, so the service should see some expansion over the coming weeks.

The only app you need for getting a ride or food delivered

Limited choice in food delivery

The only real drawback, for me at least, is that the providers Accomplice works with for food delivery and pickup don't have any options within my area. That seems odd to me, but I've tried on several occasions with the same results.

In larger metropolitan areas, though, I know from experience that delivery.com has a good presence. In fact, it's one of the most robust food delivery providers available on mobile devices.

If you live in the right place, Accomplice is definitely your one-shot app for both requesting rides and ordering food. You can get a ride in a hurry, order food to your door, or schedule your own dinner pickup from one app.

Since Accomplice is new and still growing, more options will be arriving soon. More delivery options could be coming, along with additional choices in ride-sharing.

Furthermore, the app is planning a delivery option for wine, beer, and spirits straight to your door. That will be terrific for either planning a party or just stocking up your liquor cabinet for the week's nightcaps.

If you live in a region that can benefit from everything Accomplice can do, it's definitely a great app to have. It provides you with a one-stop app for ride requests and food delivery.

Even if you can't take advantage of ordering food, just the way Accomplice let's me request rides with quick arrival times is worth leaving the app on my iPhone.

Accomplice is young and growing, but it's already got enough options to keep it on my iPhone. I can request a ride from either of two different ride-sharing services, and I expect more options will be added soon. If you live in a larger metropolitan area, the app is sure to be your one-stop option for both getting a ride and ordering food.
