Get Paid to Exercise With Sweatcoin for iPhone
How would you like to get paid to exercise? Will that give you that extra bit of motivation you need to get fit? Sweatcoin might be just the app you’re looking for.
Sweatcoin allows you to get paid to exercise. You earn a currency called Sweatcoins within the app for every outdoor step you take. You can spend that money on a variety of real-life goods and services, or you can donate to different charities.
As you might imagine, it will take quite a lot of steps to earn enough currency to buy something. For example, 60 Sweatcoins will get you a sun protective dietary supplement beverage worth about $10. One thousand outdoor steps convert to .95 Sweatcoin. In other words, each Sweatcoin takes over a thousand steps to earn. So, the $10 beverage I mentioned above will take you well over 60,000 outdoor steps to earn. Still, none of this costs you a single penny, so you do get paid to exercise. Bear in mind that you’re getting paid for goods and services, not receiving cash.

Your Wallet and What You've Earned Today
In the Wallet section, you can see how many outdoor steps you've taken so far, and how many Sweatcoins you've earned and converted. You can also send Sweatcoins to a friend here. Go over to the Earned Today tab to see a breakdown of your earned Sweatcoins, total steps, and outdoor steps.
Note that some of the items you can purchase with Sweatcoins do still have fees associated with them, such as shipping and handling. Other items cost only Sweatcoins. You can also earn Sweatcoins by getting your friends and family to sign up.
You may notice that Sweatcoin only counts your outdoor steps. I don’t know why the app does this; it doesn’t seem fair to those of who live in cold climates. Exercise is a staple in my life. I aim for and usually achieve 10,000 steps per day, but as few of those as possible are outdoors in the winter. I avoid even walks to the mailbox on icy, snowy days. Why should I be penalized because I exercise indoors rather than out? Shouldn’t we be paid to exercise either way?
Still, it is nice to be paid to exercise, regardless of how long it will take to earn any prizes. It’s still free stuff you wouldn’t be getting if you weren’t using Sweatcoin. This app might be the little extra push to get moving that you need to get healthier. Sweatcoin is available on the App Store for free.
