Snapchat Now Takes Advantage of the iPhone X TrueDepth Camera

April 6, 2018

There's a new tool you can use in Snapchat to express yourself with your friends. The social app now offers iPhone X users three exclusive face lens filters that work with the phone’s TrueDepth camera system. The result is creative and fun.

At launch, you can add a wrestler mask, a tiara, and a bejeweled face mask to your face in real time. In doing so, Snapchat adds ambient lighting and a background blur.

To get started, launch Snapchat and be sure to select the front camera. Next, long-press at the enter of the screen until you see the lenses and filters view. Currently, the first three options on the bar are the new TrueDepth-enhanced lenses.

You can save your finished video clips to share with your Snapchat friends or save the file to the Camera Roll to send through other means.

If you're a Snapchat user and also happen to own an iPhone X, you should definitely take a look at this new tool. Hopefully, additional face filters will be arriving soon.
