Update Your Voice With the Beep Friends Messenger App
Beep is a new voice messaging app from the team at Unmute. Called a “fully loaded” chat app for the younger generation, the freemium app allows you to add creativity and fun to your voice messages.
To get started with the app, you need to create a free Beep account. From there, Beep recommends other users to follow. Like other social apps, you will also be asked to send Beep invitations to your friends. Once you connect with a few Beep friends, the fun can finally begin.
You also find curated packs that surround a theme such as TV catchphrases, TGIF, and more
Creating a voice message to another Beep user begins by selecting a photo or recording a voice recording. What separates Beep from other messaging apps, including the one from Apple, is what happens next.
Beep includes a library of audio packs featuring clips from famous and historical figures. You also find curated packs that surround a theme such as TV catchphrases, TGIF, and more. At launch, many of these packs are free, although some are priced at $0.99. You add these audio clips to any point in your voice file to create something unique.
Worried about finding the perfect audio pack? Don’t worry, as Beep automatically adds a few to your account at launch.
You can also add GIFs, emoji, and change the speed of your voice message.
Before sending your voice message, preview it. If you don’t like how it sounds, you can edit it or start from scratch.
Looking for something more?
You can also add Beep audio packs to Apple's Message app, although not in the same way as you can inside the Beep app.
So Far, So Good
Overall, I am really enjoying the Beep concept and can’t wait to see how it develops over the coming months. It will also be interesting to see whether Apple creates something similar for its native Message app. You can download Beep on the App Store.
